Should My Business Related Videos Go on YouTube Or Not?

If you're a business getting into making online videos, you're probably wondering if you need to worry about video sharing sites like YouTube. In other words... does it even make sense to upload my business related web videos to YouTube and other sharing sites?

The quick answer is yes, and here's why. There are simply too many eyeballs out there with the potential to view your videos. YouTube reaches so far and so wide, and even though not many "business-type" people use it to find content, the chances are still pretty good that you can drive leads and publicity for your business.

So you HAVE to be on YouTube. No question about it. A big problem though is that YouTube doens't really want your content. They don't give you a place to upload "business" content/videos. Why? I'm not sure just yet. Some people think that in the future they'll have a special walled-off business zone for professional content.

But for now, as a business, you should worry about uploading your videos into your own business named YouTube channel.

Another, and probably the biggest, reason to put your videos on YouTube is Google Universal Search. In the future, when Google Universal Search is fully implemented, your videos are more likely to be including in the main, organic Google results if they are indexed and housed in the YouTube server database.

It just makes sense. Google owns YouTube, so there is a natural benefit for YouTube videos. Some day your videos will be indexed and injected into the main organic Google results.

UltraGet: The Ultimate YouTube Video Downloader?

So I was surprised to come across the free UltraGet Video Downloader. It, too, is a YouTube video downloader, but with a difference: it's extremely well-designed and has some neat features.

First off, to download a video, just copy and paste the URL of the video you want to grab into UltraGet and press Start Downloading. So far everything is ordinary. The trick is that UltraGet saves the Flash video file with the name of the YouTube video, not the random string of letters and numbers that you usually get.

If you use Firefox, you can drag-and-drop video links that you want to grab into UltraGet.

For bulk YouTube video downloading, you can save a YouTube webpage to your computer and have UltraGet parse it to extract all the video URLs for download (File->Parse HTML/Text File). You can schedule as many downloads as you like and have your computer shut down once UltraGet is finished.

The handy internal Flash video player lets you watch all your YouTube videos from one place.

Still, UltraGet isn't perfect. Other unique YouTube downloaders include DownloadHelper (for bulk YouTube downloads) and Orbit Downloader.

You can Download UltraGet here
